Pakistan's Football Team of Robots to Play a Grand Tournament in Germany

The aim is to promote robotics and AI research, by offering a publicly appealing, but formidable challenge. The name RoboCup is a contraction of the competition's full name Robot Soccer World Cup. First tournament was held in 1997 in Japan 38 teams from 11 countries took part. This year, above 400 teams from 50 countries will be taking part in the tournament and it is going to be held in Germany.

IBA has been taking part in this tournament for past 7 years and qualified for semi finals too, however a final victory is still pending. So, this time, students from National University of Science and Technology (NUST) will also send a team to the annual RoboCup for the first time. Event is going to be held in Leipzig, Germany from June 27 to July 4.
