Finally, after being postponed several times in last six months, Lahore's Greater Iqbal is finally inaugurated today. It was earlier scheduled to be inaugurated on 29 November, however it got postponed as it was uncompleted as per plan. While it can still be seen that it is still under completion, yet it is officially inaugurated and made open for general public.
In October, dancing fountains were installed in the park and were given a test run in last week of October. People appreciated the latest addition in city's beautification, however a number of people mocked it being a copied idea from Burj Khalifa, Dubai, because dancing fountains installed at Greater Iqbal Park work like dancing fountains installed at Burj Khalifa and can be programmed to dance on any music.
This time, a number of people over social media are found saying the flower art concept is being taken from Dubai's Miracle Garden where a massive extravaganza of flower art can be seen. However, majority has liked the idea behind the Greater Iqbal Park and how it will give historical sights of Lahore a modern layout.
